⚠️ Custom properties can be seen by all users and anyone with access to a share link. Click here to learn how to mark a custom property as "sensitive" to hide it from most users.
1. Add custom properties and understand property types
1.a. Understand the different property types
When you manually add a custom property using the organizational chart or people and positions view, you will have the option to add either "text" or "single-select" properties.
Text fields
Text fields are exactly as they sound: free text fields where you can type a value into the field. If you only need to add a few fields, or you have a lot of different values to add (and are very patient) then you can add text fields manually. Text fields can be identified by the "T" next to the name.
Single-select fields
Single-select fields allow you to create a tab for each value you add so that the next time you apply it to a position, you can just click to select the existing value. Single-select properties can be identified by the chevron next to the name.
💡 Custom properties must be populated to be visible on the org chart. If one position has a populated field and another doesn't, then one will show and another won't.
1.b. Bulk import properties using a CSV
